We dont always know what GOD has in store but what matters is HE knows.-Osinachi
Many are called, but few are chosen. People don't recognize an opportunity because its dressed up as WORK. Nothing in life is ever handed to you & if it is, you won't truly appreciate it. At least that's what I've been told, but here lately, I'm seeing great truth to that statement, not only in the rigorous grind of starting my career, but in my closest peers as well.
Introducing, Mr. Osinachi Nwaneri, super producer signed to Darkchild Entertainment. Before signing his lucrative production deal with Rodney Jerkins, Nwaneri had been known for doing some engineer work for John Legend, the Black Eyed Peas on their Monkey Business album, & had produced such tracks as Nike Boots, Uptown Roamers & Because I'm an African, for newly signed Interscope recording artist Wale'.
For many musically inclined individuals, most come from church backgrounds. "I grew up in the church because my father was a pastor, so music & all that it encompasses has been a part of me since childhood, "states Nwaneri." As I grew older, my fascination with keyboards became stronger & after an initial trial & error period of teaching myself how to play, I realized I was good at what I did.
Since signing with Darkchild, his life has drastically changed. "I no longer have much of a social life, I rarely have time to think, but this is something I've longed for, so I guess it comes with the territory. I also had to get used to living on the west coast(currently living in Hollywood, CA).
He states that after being a fan of Rodney's work for so long & being blessed to be in a position such as his, is a gift & a curse. "He's hard to read, so with that being said, you always have to bring your A game in studio sessions,"states Nwaneri." What we( team of producers) think is hot in the consumer world, doesn't fly with Rodney. But all in all its a great learning experience.
When asked of his goals for the upcoming year, he responds, "to land that #1 record." Since I've been in LA, I've worked with Ciara on her upcoming release & a few other artists' so I hope things work out.
He leaves with these words, "Everything that has happened to me thus far is because I've done things out of the norm. I stepped out of my comfort zone. I've noticed, people do what's safe & in this industry, playing it "safe" won't get you noticed. If you want something bad enough, you'll do whatever it takes to get it. I'm blessed, I'm living my dream & there's definitely no complaining in that."
